Woodlands Cycling Club Race Team Helps Berk Clare

The Woodlands' Berk Clare is both an Outrival Racing-coached athlete as well as a Cat 5 Cyclist on the Woodlands Cycling Club Race Team.

Just a month ago, Berk had a tragic cycling accident and is still paralyzed from his midsection down.  This has been and will continue to be very challenging for him as well as for his wife and two young children.

The WCCRT has set up a project to help the Clare family.

The Team is planning on building ramps for the doorways at Berk's house for when he comes home next month.  The Woodlands Cycling Club's Hirem Bruno and Kevin Lynch have made some measurements and have come up with an estimate of $1,000 for three (3) ramps.

The Club is hosting a Paypal link on its club website, http://www.woodlandscycling.org/, and the WCCRT is looking for donations to help with these ramps.  Volunteers who would also like to pitch in to help build them are welcomed too.   -- Michelle LeBlanc

Thanks to all who have contributed to the Clare family with both money and labor. The generous donations that have been received were enough to cover the costs of building wheelchair accessble ramps all around his home.
There is a little trim work and painting left to be done on the project at this point.
After Berk comes home and continues his rehabilitation and recovery goals, there may be other opportunties for the generous community to again donate funds or time to assist the Clare family with other needed projects.
Thank you for your support.
