25 runners post The Woodlands Marathon Elite Status times at Sunday's Houston Half Marathon

At Sunday's Houston Half, the RRCA State Championship race presented by the Houston Striders, 25 runners posted times that could grant them Elite Status at the My Fit Foods The Woodlands Marathon on Saturday, March 3, 2012.

The Woodlands Marathon is making a return after a 19-year absence.

While the list is peppered with many of the top local athletes who have qualifed year after year as Local Invited Elite runners at the Chevron Houston Marathon, The Woodlands Marathon field could be peppered with many former college standouts.

Benjamin Zywicki ran collegiately last year for the Colorado School of the Mines and recently moved to the area with his wife (and former CSM track athlete), Sydney (Laws).

Chass Armstrong and Jeremy and Emily (Loeffler) Daum all ran for Trinity University while Corrie Kristick swam collegiately for Rice University.

Houstonian Sean Wade - one of the top masters runners in the world - ran for his native New Zealand at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
